Etna Nature and Flavours - Half day Etna morning excursion from Catania

This Etna morning tour from Catania is an exciting opportunity to experience the natural beauty and geological wonders of Mount Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe.

The tour begins with a convenient pick up at your hotel in Catania, followed by a scenic drive to Rifugio Sapienza. Along the way, you will stop at various viewpoints where your knowledgeable guide will share interesting facts about the history and geography of the volcano.

Upon arrival at Rifugio Sapienza, you will have the option to choose between two exciting activities:

• The first option is to do some trekking in one of the nature paths of “Parco dell’Etna”, up to 2000 m.
• The second option is to buy the Etna high altitude option, which includes a cable car ride to the height of 2504 meters, followed by a 4x4 minibus ride to reach the height of 2900 meters (Torre del Filosofo). From this height, you will have the opportunity to admire the impressive central crater, the South-East crater and the historical lava flows, all while being guided by experienced alpinists in complete safety. After this exhilarating adventure, you will return to Rifugio Sapienza by minibus and cable car.

The tour continues with a visit to a lava cave where you will be provided with helmets and torches to explore the unique underground landscape.

Before heading back to the hotel, the tour will make a stop at an >organic farm where you can taste local products such as honey, wine, and olive oil.

The return to the hotel is scheduled in the early afternoon.
