Syracuse, Ortigia and Noto Tour from Catania
Syracuse - Noto
Description
Discover the wonders of Syracuse on our guided tour, starting with a visit to the Neapolis Archaeological Park, which houses most of the monuments of ancient Greek and Roman Syracuse.
This area is the most representative of the ancient Greek city and can be accessed through a path traced on the ancient Roman road, leading to the main archaeological sites such as the Greek Theatre, still used for classical theatrical performances, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Latomia del Paradiso with the Ear of Dionysius and the Rope-Makers' Cave, the Ara of Ierone and the Church of San Nicolò ai Cordari.
Next, we will explore Ortigia, the heart of Syracuse, with its Greek temples, Christian churches, Swabian, Aragonese and Baroque palaces, courtyards, Arab alleys, shops, modest houses, and beautiful squares. Admire the stunning Fountain of Arethusa and the Baroque Cathedral Square surrounded by noble palaces.
After lunch (not included in the price), we will continue our tour with a visit to Noto, the absolute jewel of Sicilian Baroque, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town of Noto is an open-air museum, where it will be extraordinary to walk along the main street, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, and admire the numerous palaces and churches that earned it the nickname "stone garden." Don't miss this unforgettable journey into the heart of Sicily's rich history and culture.
